Brewery will produce 500,000 units of gel alcohol to donate to public hospitals

The Brewery Ambev announced on Tuesday (17) that is producing 500,000 units of alcohol gel to be donated to public hospitals in the municipalities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia, cities where there is the largest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus. Each hospital will receive 5,000 units of the product and the company itself will be responsible for delivery. The company will use the lines of its brewery in Piraí (RJ) to produce ethanol and bottles where 500,000 packages will be packaged. "The demand for alcohol gel continues to increase in recent days and there is already a lack of the product in the market. Considering that one of the restrictions for its replacement is packaging for packaging, Ambev will make gel alcohol available in PET bottles as those used for its beverages, which are not missing today. The alcohol will come from the brewing process, in addition to the one withdrawn in brahma production," the company said in a statement.
