Petrobras profit in 2019 is the largest in the history of publicly traded companies

Petrobras recorded, in 2019, the highest nominal profit (without considering inflation) in the history of publicly traded companies on the Brazilian stock exchange, B3. Last year, the company's net income reached R$ 40.1 billion, an increase of 55.7% compared to 2018. This was also the biggest profit Petrobras has ever had in its history. Prior to that, the highest nominal profit had been reported by Vale in 2011, when the mining company's result reached R$ 37.814 billion.
