Retail sales advance 1.40% in August against July, says Boa Vista

The Trade movement indicator, calculated by Boa Vista, pointed to a high of 1.40% in retail sales performance in August compared to July. In relation to the same period of 2018, the growth was 1.20% and, in the accumulated of the last 12 months, the discharge was 1.30%. In the margin, all retail segments recorded growth in sales. The furniture and home appliances sector recorded the largest advance in comparison with July, 1.90%. In comparison with August 2018, furniture and appliances are also the highlight, with a high of 2.90% in sales, accompanied by fabrics, garments and footwear, which advanced 2.60%. Only fuels and lubricants record low sales, with a reduction of 1.80%. According to Boa Vista, the trade movement indicator continues to oscillate, but there are already signs of consolidation of an acceleration trend.
