Retail projection shows more optimistic consumer this year-end

The Brazilian consumer is more willing to spend this year-end than he was last year. According to projection by the Brazilian Institute of Retail Executives and Consumer Market (Ibevar), the index that projects the retail sales trend, including construction material and automobiles, for December rose 3.74 percentage points to 96.85 compared to the same month last year. By December 2018, the index had risen 1.59 percentage points compared to the same month in 2017 to 94.11.
