Supermarket Sales Grow 3.22%

Brazilian supermarkets accumulated real growth of 3.22% between January and September this year, compared to the same period in 2018, when the sector advanced 1.92%. The data, deflated by the IPCA/IBGE, is part of the National Sales Index of the Brazilian Supermarket Association (ABRAS). In September, sales rose 1.87% compared to the same month in 2018 and a drop of 4.94% compared to August. The sector expects to close the year with a 3% increase in sales.
