Beverage industry maintains growth

The industrial beverage sector, in general, keeps product launches at a good pace compared to other segments. According to the GS1 Industrial Activity Index, calculated by the Brazilian Automation Association – GS1 Brasil, the increase in the percentage of launches was 13.2% between January and September of this year. In the accumulated of the last 12 months, the increase was 10% (table below). The beverage industry stands out, as the index was negative in September – -2.7% original index, and -1.1% free of seasonal effects – compared to August. The projection of the association is that new craft beers, teas, juices and coffees can be released soon. The GS1 Industrial Activity Index is based on the number of orders for new barcodes, assigned by the entity, when the industry is about to put new products on the market.
