Sales of mobile phones have low in 3Q of 2018

The cellular market in Brazil fell 7% in the third quarter of 2018, compared with the same period of 2017, according to a study of IDC Brazil. From July to September, 11,490,000 appliances were sold, with 10.8 million of smartphones and feature phones 617,000. It was the lowest sales volume registered in 2018. Intermediate premium smartphones, which cost between R $1,100 and R $1,999, were the most sold. That category grew by 56% in the third quarter of 2018. The average ticket of smartphones also increased to R $1,340, 19.9% over the third quarter of 2017. In the period, the total revenue of the cellular market was R $14.672 billion. For the fourth and final quarter of 2018, IDC Brazil provides 10.5% drop in sales of smartphones. IDC Brazil Tablets trade still carried out a survey on the Tablet market in Brazil, which also had a fall in the third quarter of 2018. In the period, 982,000 units were sold, 4.4 percent less than in the same period to 2017. Already in the second quarter of 2018, when were marketed 763,000 tablets, there were 26.6% high. The average ticket went from R $472 in the third quarter of 2017, for R $463 in 2018. The recipe was R $464 million, 4.3% less in relation to 2017. The expectation in relation to the last quarter of last year, with the children's day and Christmas, is to register the sale of 1,140,000 of tablets.
