2018 Brazil's coffee harvest reaches record 61.65 mi sacks, Conab says

SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Brazil produced a record of 61,650,000 bags of coffee in 2018, said on Tuesday the national supply company (Conab), which earlier predicted a crop of 59.9 million sacks. The volume represents an increase of 37,1% compared to 2017 and, according to Conab, due to "favorable climate conditions, providing good spring blossoms, the improvement of the technological package, with the use of more productive varieties as plants cloned in Rondônia and Mato Grosso, in addition to the positive bienalidade, especially in crops of Arabica coffee ".
