Tobacco still has the greater participation

The total market of convenience stores, the order of the seven main categories remained the same in 2016, before 2015. The highlight remains to Tobacconist, representing 40.5% stake in stores. The string is composed of Beers (20.7%), non-alcoholic beverages (16.9%), Bomboniere (10.1%), ice cream (5.2%) Snacks and biscuits (5.0%) and Spirits (1.6%). According to Sindicom, these categories together account for 90% of the market. Among the members, the Food Service stands out as the main category, with 15.4% share. Within the food service, the main subcategories in 2016 were: Salted (22.3%), sandwiches (16.8%), coffee (15.8%), Bakery (11.3%) and cheese bread (11.0%).
