Henkel makes provision of $1bilhão to purchase the Darex Packaging Technologies

Henkel began negotiations with exclusive GCP Applied Technologies to acquire your global business Darex Packaging Technologies. The German multinational submitted a binding bid of $1,050 million in cash and debt-free. The Darex is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The American company provides seals and high performance coating for metal packaging industry.
The Darex serves several global customers that produce aerosol cans and food and beverage industry. In fiscal year 2016, Darex Packaging Technologies generated sales of around $300 million. The company has about 700 employees in 19 countries, including Brazil.
"The intended transaction is aligned with the strategy of strengthening our portfolio through acquisitions and would strengthen the position of Henkel as a leader in the global market of Adhesive technologies"-said the CEO of Henkel, Hans Van Bylen.

This deal is a perfect match for our existing portfolio to meet the metal packaging industry and strengthen our position in this business not cyclical and highly attractive, "said Jan-Dirk Auris, Executive Vice President of Adhesive Technologies from Henkel.
In connection with this binding offer, the PCM will start a consultation process with the relevant trade unions and Labour Councils. To complete this process, it is intended to enter into a definitive purchase and sale agreement. The proposed transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
In fiscal year 2016, the Adhesive Technologies business unit of Henkel generated sales of about € 9 billion, putting the company in the market leadership of adhesives, sealants and surface treatments.
