Balance sheet of December-sales of construction materials Grow 2%

According to the monthly survey of the Anamaco (National Association of traders of construction materials), retail sales of building material grew 2% in December, in relation to November. Compared with the same month last year, the high was 4%. However, the result was not enough to reverse the industry''s performance in the year. "We closed 2016 with 6% drop on 2015, when we had a turnover of 115 billion R$.", says Claudio Conz, President of Anamaco. "Nevertheless, we expect the sector to continue responding in 2017. Our expectation is to grow 3% in the first half and 6% in the second, closed the year with 5% growth on 2016. ", he concludes. The study heard 530 tenants from all regions of the country from 21 to 27 December.
Northeast and Midwest region Grew 6% and 5% according to the study, the results presented by the sector in December also vary according to the region. About 40% of the respondents intend to make new investments next year and 16% have the intention to hire new employees in January.
