Anvisa Finalizes rules for Dairy labels

Anvisa started the process of regulatory rules for declaration of the presence and amount of lactose on labels, shortly after the publication of 13,305/2016, Law of 5 July 2016, which deals with the labelling of foods that contain lactose. General management of Anvisa''s Food is in the final stage of consolidation of contributions received in the social participation: public consultations 255/256/2016 and 2016.

93 contribution sheets were received, with over 260 proposals for amendment of the draft of the DRC. In relation to CP/256 2016 were filled 50 contribution sheets, containing more than 150 suggestions for modifying the proposal. The law came in force since the 1st of January and the labels are already required to bring warning about allergens, but Anvisa recommends that society hold the process, in order to know with accuracy the rules to be observed.
