Snack healthy boosts Roots To Go

Sao Paulo-the manufacturer of snacks healthy Roots To Go managed to overcome its goal of annual sales in the first half of 2016 and now plans an onslaught in the international market.
With crispy slices and salted, (snack) based on roots, such as sweet potato, cassava, sugar beets and yams, the Roots To Go targeting R$ 10,000,000 in sales in 2016. "Our plan was to R$ 6,000,000, but in June this year had already reached that number," says the company''s commercial Director Jonathan Grin.
According to him, currently, the Roots produces 15 tons of chips per month, in a factory in the city of São João da Boa Vista (SP) and has outlets in 16 Brazilian States. According to the Executive, to achieve this production capacity, the company also has a farm in the region of Mococa, about 80 kilometers from the plant, which reaps 100 tonnes of plants each month.
"I didn''t want to be subject to price changes and quality, in addition to the concern about lack of product. So we define it [the process] had to be our ".
Grin highlights that keep a farm next to the plant reduces logistics costs.
"The freight cost in Brazil is very expensive and if we had land away from each other would end up making the whole process, so we have established the farm in Mococa and the factory in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo State", explains.
The strategy guaranteed to the company an important growth in the first year, jumping from R$ 300,000 per month in gross sales for 700,000 R$ and the entry of a partner that ensured its expansion. The entrepreneur David Sinder, newcomer to the company, hosted a meeting of partners with executives from Acai Frooty, known for the production of pulp of Acai.
According to Grin, the company realized a promising business in the manufacturing of chips and invested r $ 1 million.
The export of products is now also on the radar of the company, says the Director. Today, 30% of the production is shipped to United States, Australia, Canada and Israel.
"Our differential and advantage is working with a category that is not yet established. Our products meet the demand of a specific niche. So the plan is to first invest here in Brazil and then grow in exports ", concludes Grin.
