Pharmacy networks sales grow 12.66% in 1st half

São Paulo-sales of large Brazilian pharmacy networks grew up 12.66 percent in the first half of 2016 in comparison with the same period of the previous year, according to the Brazilian Association of Pharmacies and Drugstores (Abrafarma). The industry revenues between January and June reached 19.3 billion R$.
Considering just the month of June, sales totaled 3.3 billion R$, an expansion of 12.65% compared to the previous year.
The category of generic medicines was the one who grew up in the first half. The billing with this kind of medicine increased 12.86% compared to the previous year, reaching $ 2 billion in the first six months of this year.
Already sales of other items not remedies grew 11.95% in the first half compared with the same period in 2015. Products such as beauty and hygiene have brought revenue of 5.7 billion R$ for pharmacies between January and June.
