Male beauty and hygiene sector grows 2.4%

About 43% of the Brazilian men consider themselves supervaidosos, they want more products dedicated to them. The statements were recorded in the survey done by the Research Institute at the request of the Qualibest Abihpec (Brazilian Association of the industry of personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics). The male beauty and hygiene category grew 2.4% in 2015, representing more than R$ 21,000,000 total industry revenue, the Association data points.
"Nowadays, men have a range of products dedicated to the care of the hair, beard and skin. Are we sure this is a segment with high scalability, because we still have many kinds of products to explore "said Daniel Oliveira, Manager of market intelligence at Abihpec. "In the last five years the male products segment grew 16%, and this market positions itself as the second largest consumer in the world, behind only the United States," commented.
Among the curiosities pointed to by the survey on the consumption habits of Brazilian men research also pointed out that, despite the increase in demand for specialized products, they are still not satisfied with the items available in the market and seek for more product options for care for a shave, make-ups with corrective effect and depilatory creams for the body.
"The brazilian industry of personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics is attentive to market demands and continues investing in innovation to this segment. We are sure that men have the same consumption potential that women and we will work to deliver products that meet the expectations of this audience "finalized João Carlos Basilio, Abihpec Executive Chairman.
