Local shops provide 3% high in sales

Sao Paulo-the merchant trade of the State of Rio de Janeiro expects to sell 3% more with the Olympic Games, in expectation that may increase, according to the Confederation of retailers of Rio de Janeiro (CDLRio) as the Brazilian team advance in the competitions.
According to the survey, more than 70% of entrepreneurs ears stated that sporting goods (shirts, shorts, caps, balls, horns, flags), footwear (especially shoes), toys (dolls depicting the Olympic Games) and decoration items (stationery) should be the best-selling products in the period.
Traders should take advantage of the games to also sell stocked items since the World Cup in 2014.
"One of the advantages is that unlike the World Cup, where the matches were held in the whole country, the Olympics are concentrated in Rio de Janeiro", says the President of CDLRio, Aldo Gonçalves.
For him, the poor performance of Brazil in the World Cup reflected negatively in the trade and sale of yellow-green products, resulting in a stock of about 12,800,000 R$ stranded in the State and more than 5,700,000 R$ in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
The study also showed that only in a store more than 1800 balls were stranded in gondolas.
