Hyper and supermarket sales rise 0.2% in may

Sales in hyper and supermarkets rose 0.2% in may, compared with April this year. The data are from the survey of IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics) published on Tuesday (12/7). However, compared to may last year, there were 5.3% fall in sales.
In may 2016, the national retail as a whole recorded a variation of-1.0% in sales volume compared to the immediately preceding month, in the seasonally adjusted series.
