Ford appoints new President for South America

Washington-the American automaker Ford announced on Monday changes between its main directors in South America and Europe.
Steven Armstrong, of 52 years, President of the company in the South American continent, will replace Barb Samardzich, head of operations in Europe, who will retire. Armstrong''s place will be taken by Lyle Watters, of 51 years, from August 1.
Ford explained in a statement that Samardzich, 57 years, will leave the company on 1 October.
Armstrong, who was named President of Ford in South America in January 2014, will report to Jim Farley, vice President of the company''s Chief Executive and President of Ford Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Watters, in turn, will be responsible for the automaker''s operations in South America and will respond to Joe Hinrichs, executive vice President of Ford and President in over American.
So far, Watters was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of financial planning and strategic of Ford in Europe.
