Electronic industry expect sales improvement in the second half, says Abinee

For the first time in five months the expectation of sales growth in the electronics industry topped the estimate of fall for the next month, according to a survey of the Brazilian Association of electrical and Electronics Industry (Abinee) held in June. Employers signaled more optimism for the second half, in comparison with the same period in 2015.
From July to December, 42% of respondents expect an increase in orders and sales, while 33% design fall. The basis for comparison is weak, because the sector activity slowed from 2015.
For April and may, more companies expected fall of that high sales in 2016. In June the situation was reversed and 43% expect growth, while 35% maintain the expectation of retraction.
The data is not cause for celebration, but represent a first sign of resumption, says Humberto Barbato, Abinee.
According to the respondents, the political and economic crisis are the main obstacles to the recovery of the sector.
In June, 39% of companies verified high sales, compared to 27 percent a year earlier. Companies that reported setback from 57% to 45% on the same basis of comparison.
The dismissals led to a stabilization — 20% reported reducing staff in June, up from 27% in May. The maintenance of employment increased from 68% to 74% on monthly pass.
The Abinee gathers 500 domestic and foreign companies working in the electrical and electronics industry and employ 240,000 people.
