E-commerce will continue to grow in Brazil

More and more new customers and new categories of products will adopt this sales channel
How is developing e-commerce in Brazil? The Webshoppers report, an initiative E-bit/Buscapé, identified that unlike the restricted retail, which fell 4% in 2015, electronic sales grew 3.3 percent in the country in the same year, totaling 106,200,000. Although high is shy, she carries a latent potential of business in this new channel, represented by two factors: the value of the average ticket grew (sold a product of greater value) and the turnover also grew 15.3%, reaching R$ 41.3 billion.
However, this online retail performance in Brazil sparked hundreds of new companies in the sector, generating a growing competition between the stores. As a direct result, a greater requirement of professionalism and operational excellence to provide a good experience for users on purchase and post-sales. But the companies that operate in the sector are doing their homework. We''re talking about consumer and virtual 39,100,000 who performed at least one purchase in 2015.
By volume of requests, the category sets and accessories remains the number-one, with 14% share, followed closely by appliances, with 13% and telephony/mobile phones, with 11%. Expected that more and more new categories from entering in this ranking. This is because the growth of mobile broadband are leveraging a new market which is the consumption of services from the offline world for online media. Studies show that this sector has market potential of $ 1 trillion per year, with average growth of 30%.
Another essential point for the growth of e-commerce is changing the freight model. The Brazil is beginning to follow the model of more mature markets like the U.S. and Europe, offering differentiated options delivery time and price. Those who want to receive the request faster, pay more for comfort and convenience. In this context, the packaging should monitor closely all movements with a view to ensuring logistics efficiency and consumer experience, and at the same time costs are compatible with this new sales channel. The meeting brought together the members of the OPEN, at the launch of OPEN retail Committee.
