Boost ice cream sales of superfluous basket

Despite the economic crisis, the consumption of ice cream had little elevation in the last 12 months until March 2016, in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The volume traded rose 2.2% in the period and an increase of 4.2% in revenue in the sector.
The penetration in Brazilian homes (3%) grew and reached 48.6% of the households. In other words, almost half of the country''s homes took the dessert home. Already the South and São Paulo had retraction in consumption of the product, respectively, of 1.7% and 2.6%. Among the favorite flavors, the Neapolitan is the "Darling" of Brazilians, contributing 2.7% in volume.

Brazilians bought less unnecessary items in the analyzed period – the reduction in volume was 2.5%. Already revenues rose 3.6%, which shows that the amount purchased was lower, but the consumer has opted for more expensive items.

The basket of indulgence is composed of dessert ready, cookies, chocolate milk powder, chips, ice cream, cream, dessert, cake ready, ready, breaded snack, sweetened condensed milk, frozen snacks, dessert, chocolate milk and frozen potatoes.
