Anvisa prohibits sale of tomato extract batch with the rodent

The national health surveillance agency (Anvisa) forbade the distrição and sale across the country a lot of tomato paste from Heinz brand, because it was found by the rodent in samples of the product. The company will also have to collect the contaminated extract from stock that is on sale in the market.
In accordance with resolution published in the "Official Gazette" this Monday (18), a report issued by Fundação Ezekiel Days, of Minas Gerais, detected "extraneous matter indicative of risk to human health" above the upper limit of tolerance by the legislation.
The batch of the resolution is the L06, valid up to 4/1/2017. The product is manufactured by Heinz Brazil s.a., located in Nerópolis (GO).
In 2013, the Anvisa has determined the withdrawal of a batch of ketchup from Heinz based on reports that also pointed to the presence of fur of rodents in the product.
The Heinz Brazil was sought for the G1, but has not yet ruled.
