Gifts are up 6% on mother''s day

The children paid 6.39 percent more, on average, for the gift of their mothers this year. High inflation average in the period amounted to 9.13%, according the Ibre-FGV (Brazilian Institute of Economics at the Getulio Vargas Foundation).
Among the items were more expensive are the wines, with increased 25.97 percent. "The items that more went up were the ones who fit more easily in the pocket of the consumer," explains André Barrie, Economist and researcher at the Institute.
The durable goods, in turn, recorded a drop in prices due to the retraction of demand. According to the study, washing machines had 2.21% indentation and refrigerators/freezer cabinets, of 2.17%.
