The fall is the result of a reduction of 34.6% of the electronic industry and 20.4% in the activity of the electrical industry, according to the entity. The electronics industry downturn was steeper than the overall industry production ( -11.7%) and manufacturing industry ( -11.1%).
The retraction of 23.6% in industrial production in March represents the 22nd consecutive fall of this indicator compared to the previous year. In the month, the production fell 17.4 percent in the electrical industry and 31.1% in electronics. In 12 months, the cumulative drop in electronics industry amounted to 24%.
