ICVA Registers 6 percent retraction

Revenue from retail sales opened the year with a pullback from 6 percent in January compared to the same period in 2015, according to the index of Retail Expanded Cielo (ICVA). In December, the index had registered 5.5% retracement, also over the same month of the previous year. With the result of January, retailers complete six months followed by a drop in sales performance. In nominal terms, retail sales expanded grew 2.4% compared to January 2015. The expanded retail inflation surged to 9% in January in the past 12 months, pulled mainly by food and fuel.
