Toyota will invest 600 million to enlarge R$ engine plant in the country

Six months after inaugurating the first brand engine plant in South America, Toyota confirmed the second phase of the project, with an investment of 600 million R$ in Porto Feliz (São Paulo), where produces thrusters for the Etios compact. With the new contribution, the company will also produce engines for Corolla sedan, today imported from Japan. Adding the first step, the project will cost 1.18 billion R$.
The capacity of the plant will be expanded from 108,000 to 174,000 pieces a year and should generate 200 vacancies from the second half of 2019, when the new engine will begin to be made. Today, the unit employs 320 people.
