Self-service food sales have slight fall in October

In October, sales at super and hypermarkets retreated 0.6% in comparison with September. The fall was higher (6.4%) if compared with October last year. The data was released on Tuesday (13/12) by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics). In retail as a whole, in October the volume of retail sales in the country shrank 0.8% compared to September, in series with seasonal adjustment. In comparison with the same month last year, the decrease was of 8.2%.
