Heat and price drop boosts for production of beer

Beer production in Brazil grew in August, according to the CervBrasil (Brazilian Association of the industry of Beer).
Were produced 1.09 billion liters of beer a month, a high of 6.2% compared to the previous month and 5.6% compared to August of last year.
It was the first month of 2015 that was discharged in about 2014 since January, when production rose 0.6%. The annualized fall reached 12.8% in April and 10.5% in may; in 2015, the accumulated total production is still 3.8 percent below 2014. The completion of the World Cup in Brazil gave strong impetus to the production of beer last year, when 8 of 12 months had high annualized.
But August wasn't one of them. This year, production in the month was benefited, in particular, the high temperatures in the winter period, which is unusual, "says Paolo Petroni, Executive Director of CervBrasil.
Also contributed the fact that inflation of the product is not so strong. Date of 2015 between January and August, the price of beer at home fell -0.2% while that of beer out of home climbed 7.1 percent.
That left the final inflation of 4.5% between January and August – below the IPCA (7.1%) and the food and beverage category (7.3%) in the same period, despite tax increases in force since May.
The challenging economic environment and strong basis for comparison of 2014 also did not prevent the Ambev's net profit to grow 27% in the second quarter.
Production of soft drinks in Brazil had seven consecutive months of decline compared to the previous year, according to preliminary data of the control System for the production of beverages (Sicobe), the internal revenue service.
In January to August, the production was 9.34 billion liters, down 6.49% from 2014.
