Danone's revenue 4.2% in the third quarter progresses

French dairy maker Danone registered revenue of 5.641 billion euros in the third quarter of 2015, a high of 4.2% over the same period last year.
The result was slightly below the expectations of analysts, who had predicted sales of 5.7 billion euros.
According to the company, the result was positively impacted by the performance in Europe and in the waters of infant nutrition.

Organic sales, which eliminate the currency swings and acquisitions, increased by 4.6% in the quarter. According to the news release disclosing results of Danone, the volume increase contributed to the 0.8% growth in organic revenue, while the high prices was responsible for the increase of 3.8%.
Considering the business units, sales of fresh dairy products retreated 3 percent to 2.711 billion euros in the quarter ended Sept. 30. Meanwhile, the revenue of 12.2%, advanced water to 1.312 billion euros.
In child nutrition, the recipe also presented high 12.2 percent to 1.217 billion euros. The Medical Nutrition Division recorded revenue of 400 million euros, 9.3% higher than reported in the same period of last year.
With respect to the regions where the company operates, there was an increase of 6% on Danone's revenue in Europe, to 2.286 billion euros. In North America and the Commonwealth of independent States, 4.4% for shied 1.102 billion euros.
In the region that includes Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, revenue totaled 2.252 billion in the quarter, up 6.8% compared to the previous year.
Danone tries to recover from a series of problems in recent years, starting with the effects of the economic crisis in Europe, food safety alerts in Asia and volatility of the currencies of emerging markets.
The company confirmed its growth target of 4% to 5% in organic sales in the year. However, the group warned that the Economic Outlook will continue to be difficult this year.
