Supermarkets have real high sales of 2.63% in August

SÃO PAULO-supermarket sales rose 2.63% in real terms (adjusted to inflation measured by the IPCA) in August, compared with same period in 2013.
Compared to July, the real increase was of 2.53%. The data were released today by the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Open).
In the first eight months of the year, actual sales grew by 1.63%.
In nominal values, sales soared 9.31 percent in August, compared to the same period last year and 7.94% in accumulated eight first months of 2014.
