Multi-screen consumption is reality for 16 million Brazilians

The multi-screen consumption has increased in Brazil. Access the internet while watching television is already a reality for 16 million Brazilians. According to the study Social TV, developed by IBOPE Media, 38% of consumers make comments on social media about the programs they are watching on television, an absolute increase of 136% compared to 2012, when the first survey was conducted.
Generally speaking, women and young people are more likely to accomplish concurrent activities involving socialization and entertainment. Analyzing the data of the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, it was concluded that 65% of people who comment on a particular program during its transmission are women and 66% are in the range of 10 to 29 years of age.
Funny facts are usually the most commented and 64% of paulistas and locals believe that this kind of episode is what generates more impact, followed by the controversial events (44%) and tragic (25 percent). Even in those regions, the study points out that 80% of the public who make comments while watching a program already changed the channel or turned on the television to see something that has been suggested or commented on a message received over the internet.
