Abraciclo: Motorcycle Production fell 15.2 percent in September compared to the previous year

Balance sheet disclosed on Tuesday by Abraciclo, an organization that represents the manufacturers of motorcycles, shows drop in sales and production in September, leading the Association to revise downwards their projections about the industry's performance this year.
Last month, production of motorcycles fell 15.2% compared to September 2013, adding 127.8 thousand units. On the same basis of comparison, the wholesale sales — from the factories to the concessionaires — fell 18.8 percent, to 116.6 million.
This performance leads to 1.16 million units in cumulative motorcycle production in the first nine months of the year, 8% below of 2013. Already the deliveries to dealers fell 10.7% to date, totaling 1.07 million motorcycles.
Abraciclo, which started the year predicting stability both for sales and for the production of motorcycles and who later, in July, revised to a fall of 3% the results forecast in the industry now is predicting fall of 7.4% in the manufacture of motorcycles and 8.3% in sales this year.
