Actual sales of supermarkets grow 3.26% in November, indicating Open

SÃO PAULO-supermarket industry sales in November had real high of 3.26% compared with the previous month and of 9.78% compared to November 2012. These indexes have been deflated by the IPCA of IBGE, in accordance with the National Sales Index released on Thursday by the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Open).
From January to November, sales of 5.65% growth accumulate real as compared to the same period in 2012. In nominal values, the Sales Index of Association presents by November accumulated growth of 12.28% in comparison with the same period in 2012.
"Sales until November show that our industry achieve very positive results this year and prospects are still very good for sales this holiday season," said in a statement the President of the Open, Fernando Yamada.
"The Sales Index showed significant growth again in November over the same month of the previous year, which shows that the Brazilian is still consuming well, because your income remains stable," said in a statement. "We should conclude with sales above the 2013 5%, for 2012, which undoubtedly is a great result."
In November, the index AbrasMercado, basket of 35 products consumed in supermarkets, presented high prices of 0.34% in respect of the preceding calendar month. In nominal values, the basket AbrasMercado went from R $ 358,60 in October 2013 for R $ 359,86 in November.
In the year, the indicator has accumulated growth of 5.28%, above the value registered by the IPCA, which ranged in the same period 4.95%.
